Word From The Head

It is a privilege to lead Windermere School and to work alongside a community that is ambitious for every young person.
As the incoming Head, I am delighted to introduce myself and begin what I hope will be a long and rewarding relationship with our pupils, families and wider school community.
Schools are fundamentally about people: the young people who learn and grow here, the staff who support, inspire and challenge them, and the families who place their trust in us.
I look forward to getting to know our pupils, parents and guardians, and to working closely with colleagues across the school. I hope you will find me to be a visible, approachable and present Head, keen to listen, engage and understand the experiences and aspirations of everyone who makes Windermere such a special place.
We believe education should equip students not only with knowledge and qualifications, but also with the confidence, character and resilience to thrive in an ever-changing world. Every student brings their own strengths, interests and aspirations, and we are committed to helping each one discover what they are capable of and encouraging them to aim higher than they thought possible.

We provide a safe and supportive environment where students can take risks, think creatively, develop leadership skills and grow in confidence. Learning extends beyond the classroom through our connection with the natural environment, opportunities to contribute to the wider community and experiences that encourage students to embrace new challenges and broaden their horizons.
What makes Windermere special is our belief that every young person has the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.
Our role is to help each student find the pathway that is right for them, while ensuring they leave us with the skills, experiences and self-belief to embrace the opportunities ahead. We want our students not simply to succeed at school, but to lead purposeful, fulfilling lives and make a positive difference wherever their journey takes them.
I am excited about the future of Windermere and look forward to working in partnership with our pupils, families and staff to build on all that is already strong, while ensuring every young person can flourish.
I am enormously proud to be joining the Windermere community and look forward to getting to know many of you over the coming months.
