I am delighted to welcome you to Ashville. It is an enormous privilege to be Head of our wonderful 2-18 co-educational school occupying a glorious site in Harrogate.

Founded in 1877, Ashville has a long tradition of offering a rounded holistic education in a flourishing co-educational community. We foster a culture of high expectations, ambition and staying true to our Methodist foundation, the importance of being the best version of ourselves. We promote a love of all-round learning for its own sake - not just as a means to an end. Both inside and outside the classroom, we are committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for intellectual, physical and personal interest and development.

At the heart of Ashville’s success is full commitment to the development of good, caring human beings through our proactive, individualised pastoral care and individual mentoring. All our pupils are part of a happy and close-knit community, known, cherished and encouraged as individuals. We provide a place where children and young people thrive, and leave us 'future ready' for life beyond school.

In addition, Ashville provides a rich and varied programme of co-curricular activities throughout the week including music, sport, drama as well as an extensive range of other pursuits. These opportunities are all hugely enjoyable in themselves, but they also help girls and boys of all ages to develop confidence and the social skills they will need to be happy and successful in the ever-changing global workplace.

If you are interested in discovering more about Ashville, then please do get in touch. Alternatively, please visit us at one of our upcoming Open Events. We would love to meet you and your children, to share all our hopes and ambitions for their future.

    School Reviews

Parent of an Upper Sixth Leaver

Charlie has enjoyed representing the School sports-wise because it punches above its weight in terms of size, which is due to the teachers and the kids being really motivated

    .Lydia (Year 8 pupil)

In Lower School you get a little booklet that helps you keep track of the different activities you’re doing, the values you’re working on, and you can get stamps for the different values. It really helps keep you focused and pushes you to do more

    James (former pupil)

I joined Ashville in Year 7. The teachers are wonderful and are willing to give as much of their time as needs be, something I will ever be grateful for. They are conscientious, considerate and sincere. They work to help each pupil improve no matter their ability.

    Former pupil

I always think: if you’re ever bored at Ashville, you’re doing something wrong. There’s just so much to do.

    Ben (Lower Sixth Pupil)

My favourite thing about Ashville is in the opportunities that the School provides. They focus on you as a person and you get to try things. You have options and there’s something for everyone.
