Monkton Senior School

Word From The Head

Bradley Salisbury

Welcome to Monkton! As you explore the site, you will see that Monkton pupils work in a beautiful setting with fantastic facilities, but this is only the visible part of our school. The real essence - the culture we’ve fostered, the meaningful relationships, and the heartfelt kindness - can only be truly understood by visiting us at Monkton and experiencing it first-hand.

At Monkton, our distinctive strength lies in our deeply rooted Christian ethos. We are dedicated to ensuring that every pupil is Known, Inspired and Ambitious.
Be Known: At the heart of our community is a commitment to building meaningful relationships between staff and pupils and our staff devote considerable time and energy to this. This has benefits that extend well beyond the classroom and positive learning dynamic we see across the school; more importantly, each child is personally known and helped to discover more about themselves, their beliefs, values, skills and strengths. We believe that, by being known and understood, our pupils are able to excel in every area of school life.

Be Inspired: Inspiring our pupils takes many forms. It means inspiring a love of learning - both within academic subjects and through our rich co-curricular programme. It involves finding inspiration in older students, who serve as role models, and, in time, becoming inspiring role models themselves. It’s about discovering new passions and progressively gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their own journey in life.

Be Ambitious: We know that every pupil needs both strong support and meaningful challenge, and that’s exactly what we offer. The kindness that permeates the Monkton community creates a safe place where pupils feel empowered to be bold, take creative risks and learn from their experiences - whether they lead to immediate success or valuable lessons. Our goal is for pupils to leave not only ambitious to succeed, but also know what deep and real success means, such as building ethical companies, fighting injustice, creating beauty through the arts, tackling the world’s biggest scientific challenges, or striving to make a real difference as compassionate leaders.

Monkton is a very special place that has to be experienced to be fully understood. Please do get in touch with our wonderful admissions team to come and see for yourself.
