Word From The Head

Mrs Heidi-Jane Boyes

Hello and welcome to Royal High Bath, GDST.
Royal High is a remarkable school for girls to belong to. Girls will always come first for us – everything we do is built around girls and their needs.

At Royal High we value tradition whilst embracing tomorrow’s world through innovative and creative thinking. We strive to be an outward looking school, generous in its service and partnerships to others, inclusive and diverse in its outlook.

Royal High is a school where every girl matters, every voice is heard, and everyone is empowered to explore and to try anything. You will experience this – alongside our warmth and smiles – as soon as you step foot through our door.

At the heart of what we do is a desire to educate and empower a school of curious young people by equipping them with the skills, confidence and compassion to live a life unlimited. Along with the academic excellence the school is renowned for, we pride ourselves on how we nurture compassion as much as excellence, where girls spark off one another and support each other as they build skills and confidence for learning and in life.

Every girl has the freedom to express herself individually and collectively, explore what excites her and experience new interests, independence, friendships and sisterhood, which will take them way beyond the classroom.

Our shared ethos is to ensure that each student achieves her full potential. Regardless of whether she is a boarder or day student, our environment offers a unique academic and enrichment curriculum, personal teaching, exceptional pastoral care and personal pathways to success. In our school we aim for all members of our community to be:

– Kind, respectful and supportive

– Confident and bold

– Future ready, with a strong sense of social responsibility

– Learners for life with an ongoing aptitude for excellence, not perfectionism

We are a proud member of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) making our offer even richer in possibility and opportunity. Over the years, alumnae of both the school and across our family of GDST schools have contributed significantly to all sectors, with great success in traditionally male dominated areas such as STEM and sports. With over 100,000 alumnae and ever-increasing network, a Royal High education really is for life.

I hope our website provides you with an open window into life at Royal High. I look forward to welcoming you to the school, where you will be able to discover this for yourself.
