From Rhian Thornton, Headmistress

Upton House is a thriving co-educational school for boys and girls aged 2 up to 11 years. Self-esteem and happiness, we believe, are paramount to each child’s success and we pride ourselves on developing confident and happy children with a love of learning… even online!

With high academic standards, high calibre staff and excellent pastoral care, Upton House children blossom and have a zest for life, continually learning and developing their abilities, interests and talents within a caring and supportive environment. We encourage children to accept challenges in a very nurturing atmosphere. Upton teaches children to thrive in the modern world and we invite our students to think outside the box.

Building on the success of our mixed Early Years and Pre-Prep schools, the Prep school has moved to be fully co-ed and boys can stay until Form 6. Our ethos and values remain the same. We offer a personalised education, and our children are capable, confident and kind individuals when they leave the school. Boys as well as girls sit exams for secondary schools while at Upton. We think our unique personalised approach to prepare each pupil for the secondary school of their choice will be very beneficial for the boys. We have a 98% acceptance rate for girls and 30% scholarships offers and we aspire to achieve the same for the boys. Our children progress to their next schools as confident, successful and independent individuals.

Back in March 2020, we launched UptonHouse@Home our bespoke online learning experience which has been designed to bring the continuity of Upton curriculum and community to you at home, so your child continues to excel even when they can’t be in school.

Our Upton content was redesigned for digital consumption, delivered by our creative, caring and trusted Upton team. We provided uninterrupted education and emotional development to our children, with all teachers delivering their full timetable virtually.

Please join our next online open morning or come for “safe” tour by appointment only when it is possible. I would be very happy to meet you and you can be assured of a warm welcome. Upton House really is an exceptional place full of wonderful opportunities for every child.

      School Reviews

      ISI Inspection Report 2017

Excellent relationships between all in the school community enable pupils to have high levels of self-confidence and, as a result, they are willing to explain and discuss their learning in class with their teachers and peers.

You manage a very valuable balance between being streched and challeneged on one hand, and supportive and nurturing on the other.

      ISI Report June 2017

Best Educational oppotunities to every child.
