Word From The Head

Head Photo

Mrs Jane Whittingham

Situated in the heart of Godalming, St Hilary’s prides itself in providing an outstanding all-round education, equipping pupils not only with strong academic standards but also the essential qualities and skills required beyond their time at our school. Ultimately we strive to ensure that all our pupils develop a real thirst for learning.

We believe that a good prep school education will give children opportunities that will equip them intellectually, physically, culturally and emotionally for the challenges of the twenty first century.

At whatever stage your child joins us, be it Early Years (pupils aged 2 to 5), Pre-Prep (pupils aged 5 to 7) or Prep School (pupils aged 7 to 11) they will be warmly welcomed into the school.

Our focus is to find each child’s individual talent and help them surpass their personal best.

Our parents use words such as inclusive, nurturing and rounded to define our school, so if you share in our belief that happy children thrive please come and visit, either at one of our Open Mornings or I would be happy to take you on a personal tour. We look forward to meeting you.

Mrs J Whittingham B.Ed Cert., Prof.Prac.SpLD

Holiday Camps

01-07-2025 - Tennis Academy - ongoing

Tennis is one of the UK’s most popular and rewarding sports, helping players to attain a healthy level of overall fitness and to maintain an excellent degree of agility and vitality in life beyond school.

For those with a natural talent, given the right coaching and opportunities, tennis can lead to a career of sporting achievement at the highest level, as we recently saw in Emma Raducanu’s victory at the US Open, Joe Salisbury winning the US Open mixed doubles and men’s doubles, and Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett becoming the first British pair to win all four Grand Slams in a year.

School Reviews

Year 5 Parent

Our daughter is so genuinely happily at school and each term we think that it cannot get better for her and then it does! She is grinning when she climbs on the bus at 7.45am and she is grinning when I collect her after school and we couldn't ask for more!

It is evident that St Hilary's is a very special place and that the children's welfare is at the very centre of everything that you do. We are very grateful to you and your staff who always seem to go that extra mile and help to make the school the vibrant and nurturing environment it is.

Year 6 Parent

With the end of term in sight and our time at St Hilary’s coming to a close, we just wanted to say that whilst we have only been at the school for one and a half years, it has had such a tremendously positive impact on our daughter and our family as a whole, and I can’t thank you and all the...

Year 5 Parent

As our daughter now begins her second term at St Hilary’s, we felt it really appropriate to write to you to say how impressed we are by what we have seen of the school in our short time with you!
