An adventure awaits you at Staines Prep, an endearing school where children aged 2-11 thrive and grow in preparation for the challenges of tomorrow.

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent, but rest assured that you are in safe hands. Within our diverse community children are nurtured and supported, becoming independent, lifelong learners who are confident to be themselves - something vital in today’s fast-paced world. Tried and tested approaches have been used and adapted by our staff to best suit young learners since our foundation in 1935.

I am proud that we celebrate children as individuals, acknowledging their unique characters, traits and skills. They are encouraged to embrace challenges and learn collaboratively, with effort being praised alongside achievement.

"Everyone here is welcomed as a distinct individual who forms a valuable part of our warm, inclusive family atmosphere."

Our community consists of more than just our pupils and staff: it extends to parents and families, who are actively encouraged to get involved with their child’s education. We believe you play an important part in partnership with us to enable your child to reach their maximum potential. Our goal as a charitable school is to provide high quality education whilst ensuring our fees remain at competitive levels - something we are able to consistently achieve every day.

Throughout their time with us, your child will follow The Staines Prep Way - a code underpinning everything we do built on seven timeless values chosen for their enduring relevance to the children of today and adults of tomorrow:

    - Listen
    - Share
    - Forgive
    - Be Kind
    - Respect Others
    - Be Your Best
    - Be Honest

We pride ourselves on having a real family feel with real family values, and dedicated staff lead by example. They provide exemplary pastoral support and continuously champion our dedication to wellbeing.

Following a full ISI inspection in June 2024, we are pleased to report that Standards for all areas were met. Staines Preparatory School are pleased to say that we were awarded a ‘significant strength’ in a category under the new framework.

As pupils near the end of their journey with us we cater for them to move onto independent senior schools or grammar schools, with high expectations for what they will go on to achieve.

What are you waiting for? The first steps of your journey begin here - we would love for you to pay us a visit!

    Looking forward to meeting you,

    Hannah Miles B.A.(Hons), QTS, M.Ed

      School Reviews

      Former NurseryParent

My son has been provided with endless learning opportunities and talks with great enthusiasm at home about his experiences.

Lower School & Upper School Parent

My children love coming to school and more importantly they love learning. The school, teaching and support staff have such amazing skill sets and an innate ability to help each and every child flourish in all aspects of their life.

Lower School & Upper School Parent

The sole aim is always clear, it has never changed and that is the happiness of the children.

      Nursery Parents

The one to one care they give both your child and you as parents confirms that the school community is more like a family.

      Nursery & Lower School Parents

The transition from Nursery to Reception, and beyond, was handled so well it felt – for both children, despite each having very different personalities and especially considering the recent challenges of the pandemic – like a small, exciting but entirely natural step.

      Lower School Parent

Honestly speaking as parents we have been to see a few other schools over the last few weeks ... and none other was as happy and inspiring as Staines Prep.
