Party in the Park

Published on isbi School News dated Wednesday 24th of July 2013

The Big Band at St Benedict's School, Ealing was invited by the organisers of Pitshanger's Party in the Park, to kick start proceedings at this year's festivities on a beautiful, sun soaked summer Sunday.
Under the expert guidance of Music Teacher and Band Leader Dominic Field, the twenty-member Big Band entertained the party goers as they arrived for a fabulous afternoon of community fun and entertainment. The band drew an appreciative audience as they went through a varied repertoire ranging from Eye of the Tiger to Hawai Five-O. Record crowds, estimated at about seven thousand, joined the Mayor of Ealing, MP Steve Pound and other local dignitaries for the afternoon.
Music Administrator Kate Mythen said: 'This was the first time that St Benedict's had taken part in the event and I think we made a very good impression. The Band has already been booked for next year!'
Pitshanger is a 'village' within the Borough of Ealing with a vibrant Community Association (PCA). Party in the Park is the major annual event organised by the PCA and funds raised benefit the community, local organisations and charities.
