22nd October 2013: Colchester High School announces the expansion of the 132 year old school with the opening of a Sixth Form at their Study Centre in Oxford Road from September 2014. Significant investment will be made at the Centre to accommodate a student Common Room, Study rooms and new Science Laboratory, allowing students to study a wide range of A Level subjects. Cognita, the school's parent company will also use this as an opportunity to improve facilities further on the main school site.

The Principal, David Young, said 'We are very excited about this new educational offering. Our Sixth Formers will enjoy a unique experience with many benefits, including our small class sizes, which allow us to offer a tailored approach to learning, treating each student as an individual. Our ambition is that each pupil achieves the best possible grades at A Level and we are all very keen to continue to build on the strong academic success seen at the school over the last few years.'

The school will be accepting applications from external candidates from December 1st 2013.
