Old Swinford Hospital Appoints New Headmaster

The Governors of Old Swinford Hospital are delighted to announce that Mr Paul Kilbride is to be the next Headmaster from September 2014.

Mr Kilbride is a Modern History graduate from Magdalen College, Oxford who completed his MA at the University of London. He is currently Deputy Head of Bethany School, Sussex and will succeed Peter Jones who is retiring after 26 years at the School.

Malcolm Wilcox, Chairman of Governors said, 'The challenge of replacing a long serving and loyal OSH Headmaster was never going to be a simple task, so it is with great pleasure that we can introduce to parents and the whole School community, a successor whom we firmly believe will take up the mantle which is Old Swinford Hospital and carry it forward with as much energy, vigour and enthusiasm as we have come to expect.

Paul comes to us highly recommended by his present and past schools. His vision for the future of this School is clear, focused and exciting and I am sure you will join with me in welcoming Paul, Emma and their sons to Old Swinford Hospital next summer.'

Paul Kilbride said, 'I feel very privileged to have been asked to succeed Peter Jones and become the nineteenth headmaster of Old Swinford Hospital. OSH is a great school with a wonderful history and a strong sense of tradition. I am looking forward to embarking on its next chapter and building on the firm foundations laid by Peter and his predecessors. In the meantime, I hope to get to know more about the pupils, teachers and parents who make up the school community as Peter and I work on effecting a smooth transition.'
