Ten Tors 2014 success!

Earlier in May a team from the Godolphin CCF navigated their way around a 35 mile route over the wilds of Dartmoor in some truly awful weather. Driving rain and howling winds pushed the temperature down to single figures for the weekend resulting in about a 20% drop out rate from the whole event. The team of Catherine Cockrell (Captain), Anna van der Horst, Imogen Heitz Jackson, Ella Melhorn and Bella Beney crossed the line with two hours to spare on Sunday afternoon coming in sixth (of 16 teams) on their route.
The Ten Tors Challenge really is that. The teams navigate completely on their own. They carry all their equipment including tents and food (weighing approximately 15kg) and must get around the course within 34 hours including a compulsory 10 hour night stop. The Godolphin girls showed great resilience and determination to complete the Challenge and are very justifiably proud of their achievement.
Godolphin is one of only a handful of girls' only schools who have a CCF (Combined Cadet Force).
