An amazing week of inspiration and fun

GB Olympic volleyball player Rachel Laybourne, with the help of top players from Polonia Volleyball Club, put on a super week of volleyball activities at St Benedict's School, Ealing just before summer half-term. The culmination on Friday was the inter-house volleyball tournament which was won by Gervase.
Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in the world and it is a dynamic and fast moving game. St Benedict's School is the home ground of CBL Polonia, one of Britain's top volleyball clubs, who play their fixtures in the school sports hall.

Nikki Woodroffe, Director of Sport at St Benedict's, summed up: 'An amazing week of inspiration and fun during our PE lessons which was coupled with speed cage competitions, an inter-house tournament, and specific team workshops with GB and professional players. The coaches shared best practice as to how we could deliver volleyball differently here at St Benedict's. We are now looking forward to developing in partnership with Volleyball England a more direct and permanent performance pathway for our players, some of whom were identified through this great initiative.'
