A Veteran Visitor

On Friday we had a very special visitor in school - Arthur Jones who is a veteran of the D-Day red landings. Arthur spoke about some of his adventures in France and how a family helped him after his tank broke down! Several years ago a television company helped him find the daughter of the family and Arthur was able to travel back to France to meet her again.

After talking to us, Arthur joined Pre-Prep 2 for lunch. He enjoyed his fish and chips but I think that we enjoyed meeting him more! He is a truly amazing character and it was a privilege to meet him.
