Cambridge House Community College (Valencia) won the British International School of the Year award at Thursday night's Independent School Awards in Nottingham, England.

From its humble beginnings in 1986 with only ten children, the college now has more 1,300 on roll and a waiting list to enter at almost every level. It is passionate about providing a quality British education and for all learners to reach their potential, regardless of ability or preferred learning style, in a home-like environment. Regarded as a pioneering British school in Spain, it was the first to gain both BSO status (an official British School Overseas) and NABSS accreditation (National Association of British Schools in Spain).

Judges' comments included: 'Impressive growth since inception' and 'Waves the flag for British education'

Their victory was witnessed by over 300 people gathered to celebrate the sector's achievements at the awards ceremony held at the Nottingham Belfry, on Thursday 13 November 2014.

The Independent School Awards recognises excellence in British independent schools in the UK and around the world.
