BTEC Diploma for CCF Cadet

Old Swinford Hospital student Alasdair Payne has completed a BTEC First Diploma Level 2 in Public Services with a distinction star and is delighted to have been offered a place at the University of Reading to study War, Peace & International Relations.Speaking on his recent success, 18 year-old Alasdair said 'The course took one year to complete and comprised two workbooks. It covered the various disciplines in CCF with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork, communications, problem solving and fitness.
'I have gained extra UCAS points through the BTEC, which resulted in the offer from Reading and will hopefully further my chances of achieving a career in the Police Force after University'.
Alasdair took advantage of the opportunity to study for the BTEC through the Combined Cadet Force, like a number of cadets at Old Swinford Hospital school, Stourbridge. The BTEC programme is dedicated to providing and increasing knowledge in order to further the career goals of cadets, in addition to offering a significantly wider choice of routes into higher education.
