St Benedict's U18 Boys won the Gold medal in the Foil event at the British School Team Championships, held at Brunel University in Uxbridge on Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March. With the U11 Girls winning Silver and the U15 Boys Bronze, the three medal haul represents the best-ever result for the Ealing school.

Despite losing to Eton by 1 point in the 1st round, the U18 boys qualified in fourth place for the knock out rounds. They saw off Millfield School in the semi-final, with Douggie Ashby coming back from 44-41 down to win 45-44. In the Final they met Eton again, this time with a different result. Lorcan O'Brien had a fantastic last bout to take the lead in the last round of fights. David Cuss maintained this lead and that gave Ashby a 10 point cushion for the final bout, leading 40-30. He held onto this lead, closing out the bout which finished 43-38. This victory was all the more impressive as the three boys are all Under 16 years of age.

The U11 girls led by their Captain, Angelica Lawson, with Rachel Kelly, Isabella Downer and Elena Llinares-Perales won both their bouts in the poule comfortably and sailed through their Semi-final bout against Garden House. They lost narrowly in the final to Guildford High meaning they picked up the Silver medal. The U15 Boys' foil team comprising Siddharth Vickraman, Amar Bawa and Andrew McNeil won the Bronze medal after losing in the semi-final to the eventual winners, Eton.
