To celebrate the completion of a new building at Weston Green School, an opening ceremony was held at the school on Thursday 26th May. The Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor John Sheldon cut the ribbon and planted a tree to pronounce the new building open, as pupils, teachers, local residents, councillors, parents, architects and other members of the Weston Green School community celebrated the recent expansion of the school.

The new building, designed by PRP Architects and over 400 square metres in size will be the focus for the school's music, sport, dance and drama lessons as well as housing classrooms for Kindergarten and Reception.

'This impressive new building is a stunning addition to Weston Green School and further extends the opportunities for all pupils at our school as we move into providing all through education from preschool age to eleven,' said the school's headmistress, Mrs Lucia Harvey.

As part of the event the school choir performed and there were instrumental pieces from violinists and recorder players. Pupils also handed a flower posy to the Mayoress, Councillor Mary Sheldon. As the celebrations concluded, all visitors were presented with flowers and a card that had drawings of the new building done by the pupils.
