Over 115 prep school pupils took part in the Annual Schools' Summer Festival at Old Swinford Hospital, Stourbridge on 16 June.

Pupils from schools as far a field as Harrow, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster and Staffordshire were able to select an activity from Science, Music, Sport or Drama.

Packwood Haugh in Shrewsbury collected the prestigious OSH Science Challenge Cup, for their overall winning performance, having spent a fun day looking at different chemical reactions and how to build a bridge. They also had the chance to use microscopes to look at mini-beasts, fungus and even their own cells.

Professional jazz musician Ralph Allin joined the music group to rehearse and inspire the musicians, who then gave a performance at the end of the afternoon.

The Drama group used three poems about bullying as their stimulus and worked on general performance techniques and improvisation games, culminating in a final performance.

Old Swinford Hospital is renowned for its sporting success and excellent sports facilities and the pupils who opted for this discipline were coached in a variety of sports including cricket, tennis, volleyball and athletics.
