Bishop's Stortford College Pupils Celebrate Outstanding GCSE Results

Fifth Form pupils at Bishop’s Stortford College are celebrating another outstanding year with 37% of GCSE grades at A* (against a national average of 6.5%*) and 68% at A*/A. 100% of pupils gained 5 or more passes at A*/C. The College is justifiably renowned for its provision in the Arts and 21 pupils took Music and 18 Drama. Every single pupil gained at least an A grade in these subjects. The English Department had a record year with none of the 115 pupil entry gaining less than a B grade, and 86% gaining A*/A. The Headmaster said, “My congratulations to all our pupils on exceeding their expectations by working so very hard and responding so well to the excellent teaching of our dedicated team of professionals. I am so proud of your achievements.” 35 pupils achieved ten or more grades A*/A and 27 pupils gained 7 or more A* grades. The top performers with 10A* were Katie Champion, Henry Hunt, Katie Kerr, Simrhan Khetani and Ailsa Munro. Megan Brown, Henrietta Cane, Francesca Heath-Clark, Scott Hextall, Joe Minichiello, Bradley Moon, Anna Pilcher, Alex Portas, Aastha Singh, Cameron Tooke and Nicholas Zeolla all achieved 9A*. Talented twins and music scholars, Joe and Lucy Minichello achieved a stunning 17A* between them.
