Bishop’s Stortford College pupil and 1st XV rugby player Cameroon Boon has been selected to play for Ireland Clubs and School U18s. During half term, Cameron will be playing against Portugal U18 in Lisbon. Cameron follows former pupils George and Jack Cullen in representing Ireland U18s. Cameron is a Sports Scholar at the College and benefits from the College’s Elite Sports Programme. The programme includes regular masterclasses and training sessions from professional and international sportspeople, which Cameron has been able to take part in this term. On Thursday 13th October, the 1st XV rugby team took part in a coaching session with Saracens and Scotland international Kelly Brown. During the session, the team focused on decision-making at the breakdown and attacking game play. James Reyburn, Head of Rugby at the College, commented, ‘The team benefitted immensely and thoroughly enjoyed the session. It proved to be excellent preparation in the build up to the final block fixture before half term against New Hall School, which the College won.’
