Under the Sea theme for School Production

Published on isbi School News dated Monday 11th of July 2011

After months of preparation, pupils at Weston Green School recently took part in an Under the Sea themed School Production held this year in the school's new main hall.

Using the new staging purchased by the school's Parents Association, pupils sang, danced and acted out an entertaining and fun sea-themed performance to their parents and grandparents. Pupils from all year groups dressed up as a variety of different sea creatures, including sharks, jellyfish, dolphins, pirates and mermaids.

'I was delighted with the performance from all of the pupils' said Headteacher Mrs. Harvey. 'They all worked extremely hard and successfully managed to remember some rather challenging dance moves and scripts, all whilst keeping big smiles on their faces throughout the show.'

The recent school visit to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth, along with a daylong World Music Workshop formed important parts of the preparation for the show. Children also created many pieces of artwork during their art lessons which were used as props and as part of the impressive backdrop display for the show.
