New Boarding Houses Open

Published on isbi School News dated Friday 17th of November 2017

The eagerly awaited new boarding houses are now open at Bishop’s Stortford College. Rowe House (which replaces the original school boarding facility, School House) is now home to 62 boys, 43 of whom are boarding. Trotman House provides additional boarding provision for girls at the College and opened its doors for the first time on Monday 6th November. Both Trotman and Rowe offer light and spacious accommodation for day pupils as well as for full, weekly and flexi boarders. Study areas are well equipped with desks, power and device sockets and communal areas enjoy space, comfort and a well-equipped kitchenette including the all-important toaster. Ground floor locker and boot rooms give ample changing and shower space and mean dirty sportswear and equipment is kept out of the common rooms. Flexi and Fourth Former boarders in Rowe and Trotman Houses will enjoy the company of 3 others in quad rooms and Lower Fifth pupils will share twin rooms, all benefitting from en suite facilities. As full boarders progress into the Upper Fifth and Sixth Forms and their House and study responsibilities increase, they can expect to move into their own single rooms with private study areas, again with en suite facilities. The College also opened a brand day house into which the members of Collett House have moved. Their old building, along with School House, will be redeveloped into additional classrooms, a new Senior School Staff Common Room and the administrative hub of the school. Interested families are invited to book a private tour of the College with the Senior School Admissions Officer on admissions@bishopsstortfordcollege.org.
