The Bishop’s Stortford College U13 Boys’ Hockey team are celebrating another triumph at the Hertfordshire County Championships held at Oaklands College on Monday 29th January. The College boys won all six of their matches and will now represent Hertfordshire at the East Finals at Bedford Hockey Club in March. To take the Championships, the College team played Haberdashers’ Aske’s (5-3), Aldenham (3-0), Watford (6-0), St Albans (6-1), Hitchin (8-0). Their final match, against Merchant Taylor’s, was critical as both teams had won all their previous matches. Playing their best hockey of the day, against a strong team, the boys recorded a 2-1 victory to clinch the Championship. Nick Prowse, Head of Prep School Hockey, said, “I am very proud of how much the boys have achieved and how far they have come. They played incredibly well against strong teams, scoring 30 goals during the course of the tournament.” The success of the U13 Boys’ Hockey team comes hot on the heels of the College' U16 team who came 3rd in the National Indoor Hockey Finals earlier this month and also won their age group equivalent Hertfordshire Championship on 26th January.
