BADMINTON JUNIOR SCHOOL IS TOP IN SOUTH WEST

Published on isbi School News dated Tuesday 15th of November 2011

Badminton Junior School has been named the top prep school in the South West in the Sunday Times league tables, published yesterday, Sunday 13 November 2011.

The league tables, which are based on schools taking key stage 2 SATS results between 2008 and 2010, also placed Badminton Junior School in the top 50 prep schools in the UK.

This is a particularly impressive achievement, considering that when most children enter Badminton Junior School either in nursery (three years old) or reception (four years old) the school is non- selective.

Said Badminton Junior School Head, Emma Davies: 'I am really thrilled that Badminton has been named the top prep school in the South West as it shows that small class sizes, inspiring teaching and a friendly atmosphere really do pay dividends. Being so highly placed is a tribute to the commitment and dedication of all our staff and we are really proud of the hard work and achievements of the girls.

'Here at Badminton, all our girls play sport at least once a day which includes swimming in our own pool twice a week. With a school role of only 140, and all the specialist facilities of the senior school on our doorstep, we have the enviable opportunity to offer the very best to each and every one of our pupils. By the end of their time in the Junior School the girls will have studied four languages and on Friday afternoons they enjoy a carousel of activities including climbing, yoga, riding, cooking and gardening. We offer a wide range of creative activities after school every day and make teaching come alive with relevant and memorable school trips.'
