The Cricketer Schools Guide 2021 top 100 cricketing schools have been revealed; and we are delighted to have retained our position on the list.
It follows an exhaustive process, which saw a huge number of schools submit entries to be included in the guide. All entries were judged against an extensive set of criteria, with all the chosen schools having outstanding facilities, fixture programmes and coaching.

The Cricketer magazine editor Huw Turbervill said, “It has been incredibly heartening to see schools cricket making such a comeback after a very different 2020. Of course, not all schools’ programmes have been the same due to varying restrictions, facilities, and many other understandable reasons but what has been consistent across the spectrum is that the dedication to the game in schools has, not only remained unaffected, but increased.’’
This has been an important year at Denstone for Cricket, with Sophie making history by becoming the first female cricketer to play for the 1st XI. Mr Guy spoke about the difficulty COVID-19 had put on schools and how Denstone worked tirelessly to get fixtures going again. When we were able to too, it was fantastic to hold cricket fixtures for all age groups and genders. All this would not be possible without our Director of Cricket Performance, Mr Guy, on securing a place for Denstone College in The Cricketer by; organising great fixtures, all year training and Pitchvision.
