World Nursery Rhyme Week

Published by Saint Nicholas School on Tuesday 18th of January 2022

Last week, the Little Saints took part in World Nursery Rhyme Week by focussing on a different
nursery rhyme each day.

They kicked off the week with ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’, and particularly enjoyed drawing
around each other and labelling their body parts. On Tuesday, they made their own spiderwebs, using
spaghetti for the ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ rhyme and on Wednesday, they sang ‘Wind the Bobbin Up’ and
used their fine motor skills to wind thread. On Thursday, they washed socks whilst singing ‘Down in
the Jungle’, before Sleeping Bunnies became the rhyme of the day on Friday. The children have had a
lot of fun acting out the sleeping bunnies as well as hopping around the pre-school. What an
incredibly fun week!
