'Every Child A Scientist' Project

Published by Kingswood Preparatory School on Tuesday 29th of March 2022

As part of our project ‘Every Child a Scientist’ our Science Ambassador, Mrs Dodge has been liaising with Mrs Torrance-Jenkins to set up some science workshops for our Pre School children. The first of these workshops took place this week with two groups of Pre School children working with Year 5 children in the Innovation room.

Mrs Torrance-Jenkins had asked Year 5 to come up with some ideas for experiments that the Pre School would enjoy and they decided to explore some kitchen science; creating experiments using every day products that you would find in a kitchen.

Year 5 set up the experiments in the Innovation room and then worked with the Pre School children engaging with them and supporting their learning. All the children had a wonderful afternoon and we are hoping that this will become a regular occurrence.

The children in The Garden would like to thank Mrs Torrance-Jenkins and all of the Year 5 children for giving them such an amazing experience.
