Royal Russell Pupils Singing to Make a Difference - December 2011

Published on isbi School News dated Friday 20th of January 2012

Taking part in a truly exciting event and raising a magnificent £14,000 for the charity RaPT, was just one of the Royal Russell School Chamber Choir recent concerts. They also managed to fit in singing carols for 'Marie Curie' during the run up to Christmas in the Whitgift Centre where they were hailed as, 'Magnificent performers, first class musicians with exemplary behaviour'.

This was the third year that the Chamber Choir have been invited to sing by RaPT (The Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust) at their charity concert. It was a fantastic experience for the young singers to be working with the celebrity readers who included Rupert Everett, Dudley Sutton, Doon Mackichan and Joanna David.

The charity RaPT, provide treatment and other support to people who are seeking to move on in their recovery from drug and alcohol issues. They are committed to preventing crime and destructive behaviour, and helping people reach their potential.

Congratulations must go to all the singers for flying the flag so well for Croydon.
