Commonwealth Success for Lara

e to watch made it such a brilliant experience. We finished 4th in the team event which even though we were disappointed at the time, looking back this was an amazing achievement. We had overachieved as we went in as 14th seeds at the start of the competition. Wearing the Welsh shirt and being able to play in such a prestigious event really was the highlight of my sporting career.

Balancing my A-Level studies and training leading up to the games was difficult, but worth every minute. My aim now is to continue my studies at University and hopefully compete in the next games to be held in Victoria, Australia, in 2026.

St Michael’s School has given me the support I needed to manage both education and sport and I am grateful to all the teaching staff who have supported me. Thank you.”

Well done Lara, we are all extremely proud of you and we wish you the best of luck with your university course!
