Box Hill School runs art masterclass for prep school students

Published on isbi School News dated Friday 24th of February 2012

On Thursday 23 February, Box Hill School ran an art masterclass for a number of specially selected students from local junior and prep schools. The students were given the experience of a two hour class in the techniques used by Box Hill School students when creating the outstanding art that the school is known for. The class was taken by Head of Art, Mike Coleman and supported by our talented IB Diploma art students.

'I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank both yourself and Mr Coleman so very much for providing this opportunity today for many students to benefit from this inspirational experience. Adam, Year 5, told me that it was the best thing that he had ever done and that it was a shame that the time had flown by! His little face was beaming when he returned to school and that is a sight that I will hopefully remember for a long period of time'
(Feedback from a participating school. Student names have been changed)

Last year 71% of our large GCSE cohort scored A* or A in art. (This represents an overall value added increase from external cognitive predictors of 36 points, or 1 and a half grades per student.) IB diploma work is used in advertising, displayed publicly, and sold externally.
