A Morning Of Fun With Firefighters

Published by Kingswood Preparatory School on Tuesday 14th of March 2023

Our Preschool children had a special visit from Bath Fire and Rescue, the children were so excited to see the fire engine and meet the firefighters. They had so many questions to ask such as "What is that used for?", "Do you use the ladder to chop the trees down?" and "Have you rescued a cat?”

Ben, one of the firefighters, showed the children many of the resources on the fire engine, that are used when they are rescuing people from dangerous situations. He showed them the compressed air for oxygen, the water hose, the thermal imaging camera, helmets, water and foam tanks, car cutters, oxygen masks, the brush for sweeping chimneys, ladders and the sirens and lights. The children were all given the opportunity to sit inside the fire engine, climbing up the big steps to sit in the cab.

Some of them even got to try on the helmets! The teachers were all very proud of how well they listened and responded to their special visitors. They all had such a great time!
