MUN Conference

Published by Brentwood School on Monday 20th of March 2023

Congratulations to the 16 Brentwood School students who took part in the Felsted MUN Conference representing Senegal, Brazil, and Ireland. They debated confidently and maturely, with many amendments being passed as a result of their public speaking skills.

It was Brentwood’s highest achieving year at Felsted for quite some time, with five of the delegates achieving Commended Delegate and one Highly Commended Delegate.

All the students performed well, however, particular mention should be given to Lionel M in Year 9 who was unexpectedly moved into the hardest committee of the Security Council, where the students are predominantly in the Sixth Form.

Lionel quickly had to change his research and update his points of view on the topics being discussed and by demonstrating resilience and open-mindedness, he went on to achieve Highly Commended in the Security Council for Senegal. This was the highest award across the entire conference and therefore particularly impressive. Well done to all involved.
