Neurodiversity Celebration Week

Published by Aldwickbury School on Monday 27th of March 2023

Ahead of next week's Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Mr Symes presented an interactive assembly on neurodiversity to the boys. This was a very valuable assembly and links to our diversity and inclusion group which will be officially launching soon. The boys were very engaged as they found out about influential people who are neurodiverse and how their talent, creativity and perspective have positively impacted their lives and a worldwide audience.

A statistic that stood out was that it is estimated that 1 in 7 people in the UK is neurodiverse which is nearly 15% of the UK population. This interesting and informative statistic highlights how essential it is for us as a community to embrace these differences and create an environment where everyone can flourish.

Currently, the display in the Castle Dining Room (pictured) is based on the statement:

'In diversity, there is beauty and strength'.

We want to ensure Aldwickbury continues to be a safe environment where the boys can be themselves and celebrate their differences.
