Royal Russell School Public Speaking Success - March 2012

Published on isbi School News dated Tuesday 13th of March 2012

The Intermediate Royal Russell School public speaking team have been successful in the first three rounds of the Rotary Club 'Youth Speaks' competition. The team initially won the Croydon heat in November and went on to win the District round in February. Up against the fierce competition of three other finalist teams, their teamwork and individual strengths ensured that they went forward to the Regional round that will be held in Chessington.

The team consists of Bartholomew, who delivered the main speech on why London should not be hosting the Olympics. Maria gave the vote of thanks, adding to the points made that London had sufficient prestige without the Olympics, and Katie introduced the speaker and Chaired the proceedings.

We are obviously very proud of them, not just for winning but for giving up their personal time and competing. They are fantastic ambassadors for the school.
