ACS International School Egham Girls’ Basketball Team Crowned International Varsity Champions

Published on isbi School News dated Monday 17th of April 2023

The Girls’ Varsity team at ACS International School Egham were crowned champions of the International Schools Athletic Association (ISAA) Varsity Girls’ Basketball Tournament 2023, beating strong competition on the court across two days against six other international schools across Europe.

Jaimie Johnston, Director of Co-Curricular and Athletics at ACS Egham, says: “It was a great pleasure for ACS Egham to host the ISAA Varsity Girls’ Basketball tournament this year. All participating athletes and their coaches exemplified the ACS Egham adage: ‘Win with humility, lose with grace, do both with dignity.’ We were, of course, delighted to see our very own team, ‘The Jaguars’, finish as champions. I am very grateful and proud of our girls, as well as their coach, Daniel Szatawoski. Thanks to them, our guest teams and to all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a great success.”

The Woodlee Sports Centre also nurtures collaborative and sustainable partnerships with local sporting organisations from Judo, to wheelchair basketball and Sports Hall Athletics.
