Students' Spectacular Evening Of Dance

Benenden parents, staff and students congregated in the Theatre for a spectacular evening of Dance across a range of styles at the Benenden Dance Show.

Beginning with hip-hop dances set to a range of popular hits, the student-led BDC group – under the leadership of Six Twos (Year 13s) Lara, Vanessa, Fah and Sara – showcased the skill and creativity of students across the School with impressive original choreography.

The Contemporary Rambert X Dance Company then performed their entrancing piece – Inspire, Ignite and Identity – nodding to inspirational female figures Coco Chanel, Edith Cavell, Marsha P Johnson, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Finally, the Benenden Ballet Company gave a stunning and innovative rendition of the classic Swan Lake, featuring original and alternative music and incorporating students' contributions into the choreography.

The Benenden Dance Show was once again an excellent showcase of the students' hard work and artistry, and testament to what they can achieve through sheer determination in a short space of time. The audience was thrilled with a fantastic set of performances, and each of the dancers involved should be very proud.
