A Level Success!

Congratulations to Sixth Form pupils in the Royal School Dungannon who achieved excellent A Level results this summer, with an average UCAS points return per pupil equivalent to ABB grades.

Annabel Davidson, Rebekah Needham, Cassie Parr and Hugo Wong led the way with 3 A* grades. Grace Boyle, James McCammon, Sian Morris and Molly Reid and all returned 2 A* grades and 1 A grade.

Chloe Acheson, Maya Davidson, Siena Fenton, Harry Hayes, Sarah Kelly, Alfie Lewis, Lemuel Mak and Rebecca Verner each achieved 1 A* grade plus 2 A grades. Leah Black, Carys Brodison, Nathan Ewart, Humphrey Leung, Isaac Sloss and Penny Smyth, all returned 2 A*/A grades within their overall totals.

Agnes Cheung, Charlotte Meyer, Eboney Reid and Katelyn Wylie all achieved 3 A grades and a further 11 pupils achieved at least 2 A grades in their overall totals: Robyn Archer, Caitlyn Burrows, Emma Ferguson, Katie Greenaway, Amy Hall, Katie Hall, Oscar Mak, Alex Talbot, Stephen Verner, Maisy Mae Williamson and Victoria Wray.

Year 13 pupils received their AS Level results and there were many impressive performances here too, with 44% of all grades at grade A and over 73% of grades at A/B.

Lily Gallagher, Crystal Ho, Avis Ip, Jada Lai, Leo Lee and Elena Wallace all achieved 4 A grades.

A further 12 pupils returned at least 3 A grades in their overall totals: Scott Arthur, Daniel Bell, Vasile Coteata, Jayne Courtney, Jonathan Davidson, Reuben Gibson, Genna Gilpin, Harold Ng, Chloe McCollum, Matthew Moan, Eliza Richardson, Katie Walker and Grace Wylie

The Acting Headmaster, Mr Richard Clingan, described the results as, “These results represent a lot of hard work put in by pupils as they emerge from the impact of the pandemic and a fitting reward for their time at RSD. Congratulations to them all. The educational fallout from the pandemic has had a major impact on pupils over their time in Sixth Form and the pupils dealt with this challenge and worked with real commitment and determination with guidance from their teachers and support from home. In difficult circumstances, they persevered and have achieved so many good outcomes. The partnership between school and home is a key factor in allowing young people to learn and be successful. I would like to express my gratitude to teaching colleagues and parents for the ongoing support they have given to pupils and their role in pupils’ success. We are delighted that this group of young people have done so well and have opened up so many opportunities for their future.”
