RMS Pupil Qualifies For Teamgym British Championships For Sixth Year Running

Published by The Royal Masonic School for Girls on Tuesday 25th of April 2023

Along with her talented teammates, Year 11 pupil Victoria has qualified for the 2023 TeamGym British Championships in July after progressing through a tense qualifying round back in March.

Impressively, this will be the sixth year running that Victoria and the team have qualified, having won gold twice in 2021 and 2022.

Hoping for a hat-trick of gold medals, Victoria commented:

I am so happy that we’ve managed to qualify for the British Championships again this year. Even though I had to compete on a recently dislocated shoulder, we all supported each other and I competed on the final apparatus. It was worth it as we are off to Newcastle for the British Championships in July!

Victoria has been a keen member of the RMS gymnastics squad since Year 7 and has been a core member of the successful team.

She still competes as part of her Reading-based Gymnastics Club, where she has been a member since 2019, and where she has been helping coach younger gymnasts since September.

We’re wishing Victoria and her team all the best as they make the journey to Northumbria University in the summer and we look forward to hearing how they get on.
