Year 8 Pupil Serves Lunch Alongside Prime Minister

Published by The Royal Masonic School for Girls on Wednesday 10th of May 2023

On Monday, RMS pupil Tanishka and the rest of the volunteer team at Mill End Community Centre had a helping hand in the form of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata.

Tanishka, Year 8, has regularly volunteered at an over 60’s lunch club at the centre since she was 7 years old.

The Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) runs the lunch club from Monday to Friday, predominantly for people in the community who are removed from family networks.

The RMS community is encouraged to demonstrate empathy, compassion and generosity as we all seek to show kindness to one another, and to those we encounter in our day to day life.

A huge well done to Tanishka for embodying this value so well through her regular volunteering with the RVS.
