Published on isbi School News dated Saturday 19th of August 2023

Amid a well-reported context of a return to pre-Covid tighter grade boundaries, a successful set of A Level results at Glenalmond College has enabled the majority of the departing Upper Sixth pupils to secure their place at their university of choice. From Perthshire, they head off to locations across the world, including Notre Dame (USA), Oxford, Durham, Newcastle, Exeter, St Andrews, Bristol, Glasgow, Loughborough, and Aberdeen.

The range of courses on which they will now embark is equally wide, and includes Biomedical Science, Drama, Spanish and Arabic, Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, Nuclear Engineering, Business, Economics, Maths, and Geography.

The departing Upper Sixth has had a wonderful impact at the School and their academic dedication and success mirrors their commitment and contribution to the Glenalmond Spirit and to the wider curriculum and community.

Their hard work has resulted in well-deserved opportunities to pursue higher education and explore their interests in more detail.

The Warden of Glenalmond College, Mark Mortimer, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to this year's cohort for their impressive achievements.

“What matters to me is not the number of A* grades but the number of pupils who worked hard, gave their all, achieved the best results of which they were capable, and are off to do next what is right for them, be that to read an academic subject or take a vocational course. I am equally proud of all of them and want to congratulate them and their teachers. I wish them every success for the future and know that, both individually and collectively, they will strive to make the world a better place”.
