Newcastle University STEM Team Visit Year 9

Published by Windermere School on Thursday 29th of June 2023

Newcastle University STEM team visited the school to allow our Year 9 to learn about being a doctor in A&E, along with the opportunity to make some pharmaceutical gels.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics and refers to any subjects that fall under these four disciplines. As society innovates and technology advances, the need for professionals who understand how these technologies work and who can propose practical solutions continues to grow. STEM jobs are in high demand today, and many are projected to stay in demand for several years.
Ensuring our pupils have access to quality STEM education is essential for ensuring they are competitive in the global market, and we thank Newcastle for adding this opportunity to our already exciting programme.
