National Team Racing Championships At Oxford Sailing Club

Congratulations to our sailing team, who took part in the National Team Racing Championships which was held at Oxford Sailing Club over the weekend of 5/6 October 2023.

It was an excellent team effort. Despite five out of the team of six sailors being new to the U19 squad this year, we won a couple of matches, alongside some losses to some very good teams, which is good experience for the future.

As Tony Smith, Head of Sailing, commented, “The main take away from the championships was the experience gained from being involved at such a large event. All the sailors involved acquitted themselves impressively well and boosted their team racing skills, with George and Rosie often being our fastest pairing to keep us in contention. We now look to build our squad in the summer term and return in 2024 as an experienced and more competitive team.”
