National U21 Title For Young Dressage Rider

Fourteen year old Darcey Blaze M. made a quick exit from School after lessons last Saturday to make the trip to Somerford Park in Cheshire for the Le Mieux National Dressage Championships.
Competing in the National U21 Children on Horses test she swept to victory on her young horse, Tackmann’s Dark Deluxe. Having produced him herself over the last three years, and still having to nurse him through some spooky moments, she was understandably delighted with her victory. She is now looking forward to campaigning him at the British Dressage High Profile event at Aintree during half term, when she hopes to gain an international qualifying score.
Sisters Annie and Kristy V. continue to make their mark on the international showjumping circuit, representing the Czech Republic at this summer’s Junior European Championships as well as the FEI Youth Nations cup Finals in Belgium last week. Both riders have been successful on the Globals Tour over the summer, particularly enjoying the London event which is staged at the iconic setting of Royal Hospital Chelsea.
In July, three Cranleigh riders represented the Southeast in the British Eventing International Youth Championships at Bishop Burton in Yorkshire. Tara M., Lucy L.M. and Katie C. helped the team to a podium bronze medal position after a tightly fought competition over three days of dressage, cross country and showjumping. Tara also made the trip to Chillington Hall in Staffordshire during the first weekend of term where she further represented the Southeast in the U18 BE90 Youth Championships: this time the team finished in fourth.
During what was a busy holiday, Tara and Lucy were joined by Madeleine R. to represent the Surrey Union PC in the Pony Club National Showjumping Championships. Out of the 32 teams contesting the two round competition they finished in a very pleasing eighth place.
Attention now turns to the NSEA National Championships which takes place over four days during half term. Cranleigh will be represented by riders from both CPS and CS in Showjumping, Dressage, Arena Eventing and Combined Training.
