‘Innocent…!’ Trip To The Old Bailey

Life, with all its twists and turns, was laid out in glorious patchwork at the Old Bailey on Wednesday 7 June as members of City Law Society embarked on their tenth mock trial in Court 17. We began with an inspiring talk from Judge Rebecca Trowler and Jay Patel, executive officer, and then trial started. With artful questioning from both sets of barristers, and amazing improvisation from the witnesses including Mr Whyld and Mrs Brown, the jury finally came to a decision about Matilda’s culpability for stealing a guitar from her friend Sophie near the Millennium Bridge. Matilda was found not guilty.
