2023 A Level Results

Published on isbi School News dated Thursday 17th of August 2023

Congratulations to our year 13 students who today received stunning results in their A levels.

They can be so proud of their superb achievements, which fittingly reflect their talents and hard work throughout their time at City. As well as countless individual successes, the year group as a whole received exceptionally high results, with 43% of papers graded at A*. Exam boards this year were instructed to set grading back to 2019 levels, but CLSG results have bucked the national trend and we are very pleased that 83% of grades were awarded A* - A and 96.5% awarded A*- B.

Our year 13 were not able to sit GCSEs in 2021 and given the adjustments in A level marking, their position was not an enviable one. We are very proud indeed of all they have achieved. Each of these students pursued their own particular journey, but every one of them can be so proud of the hard work and tenacity.

We are delighted they will now take up their offers at the world’s finest universities and have no doubt that they will grace these places of learning as they did CLSG.

We are of course enormously grateful for the dedication and great skills of all our teachers and staff who play an integral part in helping pupils to shine in so many ways. Likewise, we are very aware that our students benefit hugely from the support which they receive from home.

So, we congratulate the year 13s once again and wish them all the very best. We appreciate everything they have contributed to the school community and thank them wholeheartedly.
