At this very moment, the 15-year-old is on a 32-hour ferry journey to Spain, with his family who are also keen windsurfers and sailors

Will started to learn how to sail almost as soon as he could walk, expertly taught by his parents during family holidays to Rhosneigr, in Anglesey.

When he’s competing racing up to six hours a day, he has to consume around 6,000 calories a day.

“I love racing just for the sheer buzz of it, there’s nothing quite like it,” said Will.

To help with his training, Will does strength training at school and has a pull up bar in his room in Snowdon house.

Most weekends are spent either training or competing.

“My favourite competition was on Lake Garda, in Italy, for the European Championships, and I’ve won the British National Championships twice for my age group,” he said.

On the water Will can travel up to 33 knots and has jumped up to 22 feet!

He is also a member of the St David’s College Ski Team, and came third in the School Cross Country competition this week.

He joined us from an independent school in Cheshire and is thriving here.

“I was told at my last school that I wasn’t expected to achieve much, but I’ve already taken three GCSEs early and did really well,” he explained.

“I didn’t really know my teachers at my last school, but at St David’s, I know them really well and they all really care.”
