Richard III Gave Battle In Vain

Published by West House preparatory School on Friday 15th of September 2023

It was our first trip of the year and the heatwave from the previous week gave us hope for clement weather.

It was not to be!

Fear not. Our intrepid Year 4 set out on the coach up the M6 to Leicestershire to visit the brilliant Battle of Bosworth Museum. The day kicked off with a walk around the battlefield to learn about the historic events leading up to the battle. After such exertions the boys tucked into their packed lunches and were suitably energised for the afternoon.

The boys had great fun learning abut the weapons and armour used in battle and learnt a few fighting moves for themselves!

The interactive exhibition kept little hands busy and the inevitable exit via the gift shop was obviously a highlight.

We got back to school tired, a little damp but with a real insight into the Battle of Bosworth and the War of the Roses.
