Celebrating Juliette: A True Champion of Nature and Biodiversity.

We are proud to announce that Juliette (Year 13) has been awarded the esteemed Pledge for Nature Award by the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere Reserve. This prestigious accolade acknowledges Juliette’s unwavering commitment to preserving nature and enhancing biodiversity in the region, making her a deserving recipient of this pupil award.

Throughout her time in the Sixth Form, Juliette has been an invaluable member of our environment group, WEBS (West Buckland Environment and Biodiversity Society). Her passion and dedication to our planet have consistently shone through, serving as an inspiration to us all.

As one of our two environmental prefects this year, Juliette has taken the lead in organizing various initiatives that have made a lasting impact on our school community. From engaging assemblies on reducing food waste to successfully coordinating a tree planting event, where 320 trees found new homes, Juliette has truly become a champion for the environment.

Furthermore, she led our inaugural second-hand clothes sale, promoting sustainability and waste reduction. Juliette’s exceptional Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) focused on evaluating sustainable alternatives to plastic food packaging, demonstrating her extensive knowledge and unwavering dedication to finding eco-friendly solutions.

Congratulations
We would like to congratulate Juliette on this well-deserved recognition. Her remarkable achievements serve as an inspiration to us all, motivating us to make a positive impact on our environment. Together, we can work towards a greener and more sustainable world.

We would also like to thank Mr. Shawcross for his invaluable support in making this remarkable achievement possible. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and encouragement.

Together, let’s celebrate Juliette’s remarkable accomplishments and pledge to follow her lead in becoming advocates for nature and biodiversity. By joining forces and working collectively, we can create a brighter and more sustainable future for generations to come.
