Eltham College Inaugural Eltham Rugby Festival

On Saturday 14th October, we hosted the inaugural Eltham Rugby Festival in which we welcomed 1st XV rugby teams from Gordons, Merchant Taylors, Mill Hill and Victoria College. Our 1st XV put together a series of impressive performances following what had been a very busy first half of term. After losing their opening game 15-0 to overall winners Mill Hill, they rallied to beat Victoria College and Gordons, 15-7 and 8-7 respectively in the games that followed. With multiple injuries and unavailability from 1st XV regulars, the festival gave an opportunity for other students, including some Year 11s, the opportunity to represent the 1st XV. Impressive performances came from Harry, Xavier, Ethan and Year 11 student Oscar. Following the success of the festival, we will look to build the size and reputation of the festival in the years to come.
