Year 5 Go Back In Time To Enrich Their Study Of The 1800s!

On Tuesday Year Five had the opportunity to visit the wonderful British Schools Museum in Hitchin to enrich their study of the 1800s.

Whilst there the students dressed up in Victorian costumes and ‘enjoyed’ a Victorian style lesson of the 3 R’s, reading, writing (on a slate and with a traditional ink pen), and arithmetic (with the challenge of pounds, shillings and farthings!).

In addition to their school lesson they explored the fascinating headmasters house filled with Victorian treasures and artefacts.

It has certainly been a busy term for trips and activities for Kingshott pupils - where learning comes to life through the extended curriculum!
